Gale Digital Scholar Lab Workshop: Exploring Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis Methods

Gale Digital Scholar Lab is an online tool for collecting data sets comprised of content from the University of Edinburgh's Gale Primary Sources purchases. These data sets can be analysed using open-source text analysis and visualization tools built into the Digital Scholar Lab.

In this 90-minute workshop you will learn how to analyse content in the Gale Digital Scholar Lab using six analysis methods that come from open-source libraries or lexicons.

This workshop offers a review of the tools in the Lab individually. We’ll compare how various scripting libraries can be run locally as well as how they’re integrated into the Lab. We’ll cover what the tools do, how they work, how setting configurations change your outputs, and how they can be used to address research questions.

Due to high demand for our training events, our cancellation and no-show policy applies to bookings for this event. Click here for details of this policy.
