Digital Method of the Month

Digital Method of the Month

Have you ever heard other researchers talking about a methodology and wondered what it was?  Have you dabbled in new methods but hit barriers? Have you thought about learning new skills, but wondered what kind of background knowledge and computational skills you'd need? The Digital Method of the Month meetings are for you!  An informal 1-hour meeting, it is a safe space to freely discuss the practicalities of learning and implementing a new digital skill in your research.

Each month we select a method, and we have a practical discussion on what it takes to learn and master the method.  We cover: what this method is; how much time it takes to get the basics; software options available; common pitfalls; available resources.  Each month we produce a shared document that tries to guide you towards deploying the new method and shares suggestions, advice and ideas about how to get started.
