Announcing the Digital Global Development Research Cluster
We’re delighted to be launching a new CDCS research cluster this week: Digital Global Development, led by Dr Andreas Hackl and Dr Juli Huang (School of Social and Political Science).
The Digital Global Development cluster focuses on the role of digital technology in the context of international development and humanitarianism. The cluster aims to build capacity in research collaboration across disciplines at the University of Edinburgh, while generating a fruitful exchange of ideas and research insights internationally.
Cluster Lead, Andreas Hackl will be presenting at next week’s launch event for a new International Labour Organisation report on Digital Refugee Livelihoods and Decent Work: Towards inclusion in a fairer digital economy. The event will explore the report’s findings about growing role of digital economies for refugees, including case studies from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Find out more about this event.
If you’d like to discuss potential opportunities for working with research cluster members, please get in touch.
