Copyright 101: Social media, Linking and orphan works

Please note this workshop has been postponed from Tuesday 3 May 2022 to Friday 13 May 2022.

Copyright Mashup

This workshop is the last session of the Copyright series.

Using, adapting and sharing content, data and software requires an understanding of copyright. These interactive series will introduce copyright within the context of data-driven research. Working with a copyright expert, the themed workshops will draw on case studies, practical examples, and best practices. Each workshop can be booked separately depending on which aspect of copyrights you may be interested in.

Social media, Linking and orphan works

By attending this workshop, researchers will be able to identify specific copyright issues associated with social media and linking. They will discover “orphan works” (works in copyright where the rights holders are either unknown or cannot be traced) and the options available to them regarding possible use.

This is a beginner level event. No previous knowledge on the topic is required/expected and the trainer will cover the basics of the method.

Those who have registered to take part will receive an email with full details and a link to join the session in advance of the start time.
