Graham Skeate

Graham Skeate is based in Edinburgh College of Art.

Graham has a background in the arts, building trades, and architectural conservation. His research focuses on a close evaluation of built environments using chronotopic analysis, ethnographic fieldwork, morphological study, and longform structural observation. He is currently working with Glasgow’s Showpeople, paying particular attention to their domestic arrangements—known as yards—which combine mobile architecture with adaptive reuse of industrial space. While grounded in this specific context, the approach is intended as a broader evaluative tool for vernacular builders seeking to articulate and protect what they have made.
