Agana-Nsiire Agana is based in the School of Divinity.

Agana-Nsiire Agana researches the impact of social media on the intersection of gender and Christian religious subjectivity in the construction of personal identity. Through a blend of digital and offline ethnography of Ghanaian youth, he qualitatively analyses how Christian conceptions of gender identity and selfhood are simultaneously affirmed and disrupted through autonomous self-expression and activism on social media, and the destabilising effect this has on entrenched ecclesiastical authority in the public sphere.
