Copyright and Licenses

Copyright and Licenses

This page is related to two workshops created for CDCS by Neil Chue Hong on Copyright and Licenses. Their aim was to teach participants how to correctly use copyrighted material and find out about the best practices on copyright for their own work.

The first workshop, Using copyrighted material - what you need to know, provides basic training on copyright, intellectual property and licensing for digital objects such as images, databases, and software/digital tools. This workshop also explaines how this fits with the University’s commitment to research integrity, going through some examples, and providing links to further information and resources.

The second workshop, Understanding copyright and licensing of your own work, is mainly tailored to the needs of the original participants, focusing on publications, datasets and software (including code and scripts). The use of licensing to increase the impact of one’s work is also explained.
