Launch of the Centre for Data, Culture & Society
On Monday 27 May 2019, we celebrated the official launch of the Centre for Data, Culture & Society.
The centre's founder and director, Professor Melissa Terras, introduced the centre’s mission and plans to all in attendance. We also heard from Dorothy Miell, Head of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Jen Ross, Lecturer in Digital Education; and Owen Kelly, Deputy Director of the Edinburgh Futures Institute. Speakers shared their expectations for the centre, and expressed the need for a place for interdisciplinary, data-driven ideas to come together at the university.
Attendees also enjoyed a slice of cake and a glass or two of fizz!
Stay tuned for more news and updates as we grow the Centre for Data, Culture & Society.
