The Data-in-Progress Seminar Series: Sharing In-Progress Postgrad Research in a Casual, Supportive Environment

Postgraduate researchers and PhD students are invited to take part in the Data-in-Progress seminar series, beginning on Friday 17 January, 1:30 - 3pm, and taking place monthly on a Friday thereafter. The series is hosted by the Centre for Data, Culture & Society, and will take place in the 6th Floor Teaching Space, Main Library.

Data-in-Progress seminar sessions are a space for CAHSS students to chat about their experiences while conducting research – or preparing for it. Each seminar will feature two or three students who will present their research projects and methods, before discussing feedback and ideas with the group.

There’s a real need for forums where our postgraduates can workshop their writing and share current work-in-progress among peers, and doing this across the College opens students up to the very different disciplinary perspectives. The seminar offers our postgrad community an opportunity to share in-progress writing with others in a casual, supportive environment.

- Morgan Currie, Lecturer in Data & Society within STIS and co-organiser of the seminar series.
