Abstract

Fairness by design: Empowering children interacting with Educational AI

Ayça's research is at the intersection of data protection law and human computer interaction. Ayça will share her PhD research findings on operationalising fairness and ensuring fair data and design practices to protect and empower children in educational settings.

 

Speaker Biography

Ayça Atabey is a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. She conducts interdisciplinary research by looking at data protection laws and value-sensitive design in HCI. Her research explores fairness by design and focuses on protecting vulnerable data subjects in their involvement with AI-driven technologies.
