Sharing your Research Online: a beginner's guide to creating online collections and exhibitions with Omeka

In today's increasingly digital research landscape, many humanities projects can benefit from an online presence. For instance, digitised objects and images can be transformed into visually captivating digital collections, interactive maps might serve as points of reference for conference talks or lectures, and structured datasets can be shared as databases to create scholarly resources. This beginner-friendly workshop will cover the basics of creating, publishing, and storing a digital humanities project using Omeka, an open-source platform for digital publishing.  We will begin with an introduction to digital research in the humanities, exploring a selection of projects that have been created using Omeka. We will then walk you through the process of creating and publishing a project, including some practical advice for design and organisation. Finally, we will discuss how CDCS can support you in accessing Omeka and, more broadly, in all of your future digital research endeavours.
