Gale Digital Scholar Lab workshop

Gale Digital Scholar Lab Mashup

Gale Digital Scholar Lab is an online tool for collecting data sets of content from the University of Edinburgh's Gale Primary Sources purchases. These data sets can be analysed using open-source text analysis and visualization tools built into the Digital Scholar Lab.

This 90-minute workshop will demonstrate how to analyse content in the Gale Digital Scholar Lab using six analytic methods from open-source libraries or lexicons.

This workshop offers a review of the individual tools in the Lab. We’ll compare how various scripting libraries can be run locally as well as how they’re integrated into the Lab. We’ll cover what the tools can do, how they work, how setting configurations change your outputs, and how they can be used to address research questions.

This is a beginner level workshop. No previous knowledge on the topic is required/expected and the trainer will cover the basics of the method.

Those who have registered to take part will receive an email with full details and a link to join the session in advance of the start time.
